9/28/11 - Welcome to the Main Event!
We wrapped up the season at Auto City on the 17th with the season championships.
Travis set fast time and won the four car dash on a last lap pass. He started 9th in the feature and worked his way through the field. He managed to get up to second place but didn't have the time to run down the leader.
This past weekend we decide to load up the super late model and head to Columbus Motor Speedway for the Main Event XXIV.
Travis timed in 11th fast out of 28 competitors on hand. He won his transfer heat and started 11th in the feature.
Unfortiunately cold tires and low pressures got the best of Travis on lap 2 when he looped it resulting in him going to the tail of the 26 car field. He managed to avoid the accidents and work his way back forward finishing 10th at the finish of the race.
It was a solid run and we learned a lot with the super. Special thanks to JVM Enterprises for the sponsorship help at Columbus for the Main Event XXIV!

9/13/11 - Mudslinging
On the 4th we went to Spartan Speedway for the Brian Heeney Memorial "Wild Child" 100. Travis was strong all day, setting fast time over the field of 33 modifieds.
He would start 10th in the feature after the invert. Working patiently through the field he was 6th at the half way break but started his charge to the front after that. Shortly after lap 60 he was up to second.
From there he and 2011 Spartan Champ Leroy Ellis ran side by side swapping the lead for most the rest of the feature. Travis wouldn't quite have enough and had to settle for second.
For the Dixie invite the car was just a bit off with Travis fighting a loose condition all night. He qualified 3rd, started 7th and brought the car home 6th.
For the Mudslinger 100 Travis captured his first fast time in the outlaw super late model! After the invert he would start 8th and work his way up through the field. He would make it as high as 3rd but have to settle for 4th at the finish, but had a solid run overall.

8/31/11 - Wreckers, Checkers, Champion, and Running Topless
Well business picked up this past weekend. We started out Friday at Dixie for championship night where Travis held the lead going into the night.
Travis would set fast time and start 9th in the feature. In the race 2 cars would blow engines at the same time causing a big stack up. Travis' car suffered too much damage to continue and it looked like his championship hopes were dashed. However he managed to gain enough points to hold on for the title by only 7 points over Chris Stearns
Saturday was the Greg Yost memorial at Auto City and the tops were off the modifieds. Travis would set fast time and start 13th in the feature. He would work his way through the field carefully and took the lead on lap 22. From there he would check out on the field for an impressive win!
------------------------------------
8/23/11 - Wet & Broke
We haven't managed to get much racing in lately. On the 12th we ran the modified at Dixie.
Travis was second fast in qualifying and started 5th in the feature. We were trying something new with the setup and ended up being way too tight off the corner in the feature. He managed to bring the car home in 6th but we learned a few things.
Both the races, Saturday at Auto City and Sunday at Spartan were canceled due to rain and rescheduled. This past weekend we went to Spartan on Friday for their 50 lapper but ended up having a trailing arm mount break in qualifying. Luckily Travis kept the car out of the wall, but it ended our night without racing.
-------------------------------------
8/11/11 - Dixie Triple Crown Complete
The only race last weekend was the outlaw super race at Dixie Motor Speedway. We are slowly making some gains on what the car needs but we're still lacking a little speed in the set up.
Travis qualified 12th which would be one shy of the invert for the feature. The first lap had a stack up in turn one and two with Travis getting the rear quarter panel torn up when a car climbed over his left rear tire. Despite the damage the car was still decent.
He lost a lap during a long green flag run, but managed to bring the car home in one piece the first car one lap down finishing in 7th place.
---------------------------------------
8/3/11 - We're back!
Sorry for the lack of updates, had to get a new computer up and running but we're back and should have regular updates the rest of the season!
Since the last update Travis has picked up wins at Dixie Motor Speedway on 7/15 and Spartan Speedway on 7/22 in the modified. He has had several other strong runs but has had a bit of bad racing fortunes lately.
He raced the super late model twice, once each at Dixie and Owosso. At Dixie he had a right rear tire that grew over half an inch messing up the stagger and making the car undrivable. He turned in a good run the next night at Owosso starting up front and bringing the car home in 6th place.
---------------------------------------
7/7/11 - 3rd for the 4th
Independence Day Weekend kicked off at Dixie Motor Speedway where we ran as a support race for the bad fast Auto Value Super Sprints.
Travis managed to bag fast time once again at Dixie. A big invert would start him 8th in the feature. The feature ran straight through without caution. Travis managed to work his way up to 4th by the finish. The third place finisher would end up being disqualified for failing to report directly to the tech area moving up to third.
----------------------------------------
6/29/11 - Short & Sweet
We had Friday off which was good because Travis was feeling under the weather. With the only racing being Saturday at Owosso got feeling better and bounced back in a big way.
After working hard all week and finding some bent parts and making repairs Travis started by setting fast time over the field of 17 modifieds.
The invert would be a five for the feature. He worked his way up through the field and took advantage of a restart with 8 laps to go to gain the lead on the high side. From there he held on for a couple late race restarts and brought home the second win of the season
------------------------------------------
6/21/11 - Ill Handling
Friday we started the weekend at Dixie Motor Speedway where the Jegs CRA All-Star Tour was visiting town. We ran the modified as part of the support races.
Travis set fast time once again going three for three so far at Dixie. The invert for the feature was nine. He nearly was caught up in an accident on the second lap escaping with only damage to the front bumper. Travis worked up as high as fourth working the outside. After having to check up for a car that slid up in front of him he fell back to 5th. That's where he would end up as the handling went away late in the race.
Saturday we took the white modified to Auto City for the first time. Travis timed in third quick in qualifying. In the feature the right front got ran into on the opening lap messing up the handling of the car. He managed to bring the ill handling car home in 6th position
------------------------------------------
6/15/11 - Soggy Spring Continues
It continues to be a wet season. Fridays double features at Spartan Speedway were washed out again leaving them still to be made up at some point.
Saturday we were out at Owosso Speedway and for them the third time was a charm, finally getting their opening night for the modifieds in. Travis timed in 3rd quick out of the 17 cars on hand. After the deep invert of eleven cars Travis started the feature in 9th.
Owosso went to a double file restart system that lets the drivers choose the lane the prefer. A couple yellows and the restart rule helped Travis work his way forward through the field. At the finish he ended up 3rd, not quite having enough for the top two.
-------------------------------------------
6/9/11 - < Super Race Two
The second race with the super didn't go as smoothly as the first. Warming the car up before practice the engine lost oil pressure. We tracked the problem down to a bad oil pressure gauge, but it cost us a good part of our practice time. With the limited practice Travis only managed the 11th quick time.
In the dash for cash Travis drew the 3rd position and held it through the 11 laps. We got a little luck with the invert and ended up starting on the pole. Travis led the first 10 laps, with the car running much better than earlier, however coming out of turn four a rocker arm broke causing Travis to have to retire from the race.
Saturday we took the black modified to Auto City. We put a slightly different set-up in it to sort out some of the handling problems that it has been having. The car responded much better to adjustments and Travis clocked in 3rd quick. In the feature he banged tires passing for third knocking the tow out of alignment hurting the handling, but managed to bring it home 3rd.
---------------------------------------------
5/31/11 - Cold, Wet, Scorching!
This past weekend went from one of our busiest to only running one race. Fridays Super Late Model race at Dixie was postponed until this week due to flooding. On Saturday Owosso Speedway canceled due to more rain.
So we packed up and headed south for Columbus Motor Speedway where we were greeted with blazing sun and scorching temperatures in the mid to upper 90's. Travis qualified 3rd quick in the field of 24 cars. After the invert he started 6th in the feature. Fairly early in the feature he got tagged from behind and spun resulting in both going to the rear. As Travis worked back up through the field the hot temperature would take their toll with the engine overheating and Travis having to pull off.
--------------------------------------------
5/24/11 - A Super Debut!
This past weekend was a busy one. It kicked off at Dixie Motor Speedway on Friday night. Travis topped the mod field in qualifying. The feature was action packed with lots of positions swapped and side by side racing. Off the restart after the only caution Travis used the high lane to sail into the lead and hold it to the finish for the first win of the season!
Saturday we pulled double duty at Auto City racing both the modified and debuting the outlaw super. Travis turned in the 3rd fastest time in both machines, even though he looped the super on his second lap.
Travis started 5th in the super and after a quick yellow on lap 4 the rest of the race ran 96 laps straight green. He ran a solid race, held off Mike Root, finishing 2nd at the end of the feature. The Mod feature he had some contact with a car inside of him and was knocked up into the marbles dropping backwards, he worked his way back up to 5th at the finish
--------------------------------------------
5/18/11 - Rain Rain Go Away!
Rain was the name of the game last weekend! We tried to run at Spartan on Friday night but the storms rolled in before the feature began. Travis qualified 5th and was scheduled to start in the 5th position after the invert. The feature will be shortened to 35 laps and ran on June 10th along with another 50 lapper. Saturday was rain from the get go with every track around canceling early.
This weekend will mark Travis' first late model race as he competes with the outlaw super late model at Auto City Speedway! He will also be running the modified feature as well.
This weekend we head to Dixie Motor Speedway on Friday night for a 30 lap feature and then on Saturday we head to Auto City Speedway for a 40 lap Mod feature and the first race for the Outlaw Super Late Model.
--------------------------------------------
5/10/11 - Test Time!
Last week was very busy. Tuesday and Wednesday we tried to get in some testing for Howe's with their test car at Dixie & Owosso. Thursday we took our super to Auto City for the first time and learned a few things.
Racing kicked off Friday at Dixie Motor Speedway where Travis set fast time with a 15.98 second lap and finished 3rd in the heat. After starting 5th he worked his way to the front getting caught up in the battle for 2nd to 4th for a bit before making the move by both on the high side.
By then the leader had gotten out to over a straightaway lead with just half the race to go. Travis managed to close the lead down to a few car lengths at the finish. Jordan Pruitt managed to bring home the win leaving a podium sweep for Howe cars.
The next day at Auto City we had an oil pump pickup fail late in practice and sideline Travis for the evening. He stayed to help the other Howe drivers and it was a success with Chris Stearns bringing home the win for the second time in a row at Auto City
--------------------------------------------
5/5/11 - Week Two Down
Last Weekend we kicked off the season at Spartan Speedway with their opening night. Travis timed in 3rd quick in qualifications and started 5th after the invert for the feature.
The feature ran all 50 laps green with out a caution. The two leaders got out to a bit of a lead before he made his way to third. Travis spent most the rest of the night trying to run down the leaders while working through lapped traffic. He would close in but not quite catch them coming home 3rd in the end.
Satuday we made our first appearance of the season at Berlin Raceway. The qualifying times were very close but Travis' car lacked short term speed qualifying in the 9th position.
Some adjustments were made to the car for the feature and seemed to be helping, however the window net fell down after a restart causing Travis to have to drive one handed waiting for a caution that never came, having to pull off before the finish.
---------------------------------------------
4/27/11 - The Season Begins!
We managed to get the 2011 season started this past weekend. The wet weather tried to put a bit of a damped on it though. The Friday night opener at Spartan was a wash out with the cold temperature and steady rain.
Saturday we did manage to get the season started at Auto City Speedway. Good night for Howe cars with 5 of the top 6 qualifiers being Howe chassis. Travis timed in 3rd quick and took home the four car dash victory.
The feature was action packed for the first night. Early on Travis got together with another car while making his way forward and both went to the rear. He make quick use of the high lane and worked his way back up to the fifth position in a few laps.
As the tires gained heat the car started to go loose slowing his climb to the front. He made it up to fourth before getting loose and hit from behind causing him to spin and have to go the the rear a second time.
Travis picked his way back through the field, avoiding a late accident, to come home in 4th position. The night had a silver lining though as Chris Stearns managed to pick up the win in his brand new Howe modified that Travis helped set up over the winter

3/20/11 - The 2011 season is fast approaching!
With test and tunes beginning in a couple weeks and racing kicking off shortly after.
Our schedule is beginning to take shape and will be posted as it becomes more finalized. One thing holding it up a little is the new addition of an outlaw super late model that Travis will be racing some this season.
With the addition on the super we have also proudly added Woodward Power Steering to our list of sponsors for the 2011 season. They join our returning sponsors from last season Wieland Contracting, Howe Racing Enterprises, as well as Zawacki Engines.
Images of the new looks for the cars will be added as soon as the vinyl graphics arrive and are installed.
Additional sponsorship openings remain available for the 2011 racing season.
Look forward to seeing you at the track this season!
