2006 - At 16 Travis began his driving career halfway through the season at Dixie Motor Speedway. Later in the season he also added Whittemore Speedway to his schedule and picked up his first preliminary win in an Australian Pursuit. He capped the season with his career best finish of 4th at the Whittemore Invitational 100 lapper.

2007 - Travis picked up his first career feature when he ventured north to Kinross Speedway in the UP for the Randy Saddison Memorial. Running the full season in the modified division at both Dixie Motor Speedway and Whittemore Speedway Travis finished 2nd in the points at Dixie and won the championship at Whittemore.

2008 - An increased amount of travel to gain more experience was the plan in 2008. The only track he ran the full schedule was Whittemore Speedway where Travis picked up his second consecutive championship. He ventured north again making it 2-for-2 at Kinross Speedway picking up a win in the Ann Wilson Memorial. He also picked up victories at both Owosso Speedway and Auto City Speedway. He also posted strong runs at Spartan speedway, Kalamazoo Speedway, and Berlin Speedway.

2009 - A breakout year saw Travis pick up 10 victories at 6 different tracks. He traveled extensively not running a full schedule at any one track. Despite missing one race he managed to pick up the season championship at Auto City Speedway. He also picked up big wins in the Sam Faur Memorial, the Owosso Fall Nationals, and picked up his first USA Modified series win at Auto City. In total he picked up victories at the Dixie 1/3 mile, the Dixie 4/10 mile, Auto City, Owosso, Spartan, and Angola.

2010 - Another strong season featured 10 more feature victories. The season started in February at New Smyrna Speedway during speedweeks where Travis had many strong runs, just missing victory lane and finishing 2nd in points. He started the season in Michigan off winning on the opening nights at Spartan Speedway, Berlin Raceway, and Auto City Speedway. The only track Travis ran for points was Berlin where he finished 3rd with two feature wins. The other highlight wins of the season came at Spartans Speedways Harvest 300 race as well as Dixie's Modified Invitational. He also picked up a feature at Owosso Speedway during the year.
